December's News: Jan. Feb. Mar.

  • 1st Monday 2020, 6:00 p.m. : Professional volunteer Training - Shella Raye: All Volunteers are asked to attend. Food will be distributed afterward. 

Carol's Heart

  • Let's join together, collectively and celebrate Christmas. The celebration of Jesus the Christ;s Birth goes out to all men throughout the earth. During December let's look into each others eyes and see the gift that has been given to each of us.

December 2nd at 10 a.m.

  • Volunteers gathered for the monthly meeting. Mrs. Treamenda Caple read the min. from the previous meeting in November. Discussions were held.

November Pantry

  • Thanks to Mr.&Mrs. Marshell Caple.

  • Thanks to TEFAP distribution leaders Linda Pratt & David Perry. You volunteers have blessed a hundred plus neighbors on Nov. 23rd 

Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

  • Computer classes, the volunteers are asked to enroll in order that the BRLC can send News/Information to you by e-mail. Serve Safe classes for those distribution on Wed. will be conducted at the end of the email training.

Anson High School

  • Anson High Students provides services on Mon. Tue. and some Wed.

  • Doris Carpenter is out with family. 

  • Bobby Eller requests your prayers. They both have sicknesses 

Food Bank

  • Mt. Gilead food arrived Tuesday December 3rd, Volunteer David Perry, Mr&Mrs. Caple and Gwen Lisenby worked that area. 

Celebrating Your Giving

  • BRLC give a special thanks to all supporters. We celebrate you for all that you do, in all components. The Thanksgiving Baskets committee under direction of Brenda Benton was able to serve 75 plus families. This was all done through local churches, individuals and other organizations. Our appreciation will always reach out to each of you.

Kids Cafe

  • in need of funding. Due to the extreme economic condition many parents are not able to support the program. If you would like to sponsor a child it would be helpful. The cost is only $35.00 a week per-child. Just contact Carol Smith. 

Kids Cafe Students

  • Two of our students made Honor Roll last session. Laila Hammonds and Calvin Hersey.

5th Sunday Dinner 

  • December 29th starting at 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Plates only $8.00 each. 

Repairs

Heat Unit is Out of Order

  • We had water maintenance had to be done in November. Please help with repair with a special offering. 

Raffle Tickets

  • Raffle Tickets for a girls bike a $1.00 each. Drawing will be Jan. 20th during the Rev. Dr. M.L. King Celebration.

Military Support 

  • BRLC will be collecting toiletries items and non-perishables for our military men and women. Anyone that would like to help with this project please contact Ms. Carol. The first mail off date is scheduled for January 21st. The items will be sent to Iraqi under the care of MSG Tameka Horne.

Volunteer Opportunities 

  • Know of any interjected and committee person that would like to volunteer. Have them give Carol Smith a call. We are growing and need more committee volunteers.

The Seasonal Campaign 

  • The Fundraiser for 2019-2020 is in progress, All donations will be helping for some readjustments at the 

Dear BRLC Sponsors:

  • This charitable organization would NOT have been as effective in 2019. Having your sponsorship low income families, seniors citizens and children have seen and witnessed the love and care from your sponsorship. Your kind contribution will help make it possible for families in Anson and the surrounding communities to experience peace in times of difficulties. During 2019 a Seasonal Campaign Poster. All contributors name/business will be placed on to it. This was our way to help say thank you for your support. 

  • in November we served food to over 889 low income individuals and provided educational information sessions.

  • Thanksgiving Baskets were given to 75 different needed families along with a turkey. Over a 100 individuals were fed supper during the event.

  • Nearly over 204 meals were served in the Kids Cafe After School Program.

  • The volunteers accumulated over 238 hrs so far for 2019.

  • your generous giving to the BRLC's Organization made this possible.

Distribution will start at 1:00 pm USDA CHANGES: Not only Anson County neighbors but as of November 1st Stanly and Union Counties Neighbors will be able to take advantage of this food program. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. TEFAP Registration will take place at the Burnsville Fire Dept. look for signs. All forms must be completed by neighbors before service is rendered. BRLC ask that you DO NOT bring children. We DO NOT discriminate for any reason.
